Animal Welfare

At TREE Foundation, we believe all living beings deserve kindness and a safe space. While our primary focus is on endangered species, our compassion extends to domestic animals as well. For over 37 years, we’ve cared for countless animals within our centers and homes.

The Importance of Animal Welfare

Our responsibility to protect animals is not just an act of kindness; it’s essential for environmental and social well-being. Both wild and domestic animals play a vital role in maintaining the delicate balance of ecosystems and preserving the incredible diversity of life on Earth. By safeguarding their habitats and ensuring their well-being, we contribute to the planet’s health.

Our duty goes beyond environmental concerns. Ethically, we have a moral obligation to treat all living beings with compassion. Animals are sentient creatures capable of experiencing a range of emotions, from fear and pain to joy. Protecting them from cruelty, exploitation, and extinction fosters a more humane and just world. How a society treats animals reflects its core values. Compassionate care cultivates empathy, kindness, and a sense of responsibility within individuals, strengthening the bonds and well-being of our communities.

Comprehensive Animal Care

Our dogs receive annual vaccinations and regular parasite medication. Cats are treated for external parasites with a topical solution. A dedicated veterinarian regularly checks all animals’ health, providing necessary treatments and medications. TREE Foundation’s STPF (Sea Turtle Protection Force) ensures a nutritious diet for the cats with twice-daily feedings of boiled fish. Local chicken vendors supply poultry for the dogs, cooked with rice and fed twice a day, along with dry food at noon.

Mobile Veterinary Service

Veterinary Services and Future Goals

Our dedicated team of veterinarians and resident veterinary assistants provide ongoing and emergency care for domestic animals. From August 2022 to May 2024, our “Free Mobile Veterinary Services,” in collaboration with Vedics Foundation, provided vital care to over 6,988 local animals, including bovines, caprines, canines, birds, equines, rabbits, felines, and even a monkey (for the Forest Department of Villupuram).

Join us in our mission to create a world where every animal is treated with the kindness and respect it deserves. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of countless creatures and contribute to a healthier, more compassionate planet. Donate towards our animal welfare programme
